Concrete placement is in full swing as Rockridge completes the first level of post-tension concrete. Post-tensioned concrete requires less reinforcing steel, allows a thinner slab, and can expedite the concrete schedule. Tendons can be routed easily around any obstructions and are enclosed in plastic keeping the tendons from touching the concrete. Once the concrete is poured and has reached the strength of 3000 psi, the tendons are stressed. After stressing, the tendons are cut and anchored into grout pockets to keep from corroding. With the concrete deck complete, Level 2 walls and columns can begin.
