The retail component of the Market Street Village project includes a 43,500 square foot Albertson’s grocery store. At the time it was only the second grocery store in downtown San Diego and one of Albertson’s first urban grocery stores. Some unique elements include:

• Enclosed drive thru loading dock
• Separate parking level for Albertson’s exclusive use
• Vertical parcel map to separate ownership of commercial and residential components

This commercial component of the project was sold in 2008.
